Catching Ya Up to Speed....

Christmas has come and gone....and boy was it an eventful one. I'm blessed that my sister has moved in with us and over the Christmas break my niece and nephew were here as well.  Unfortunately, on Christmas Even my nephew went to the ER is severe pain (Dr's initially said it was a stomach virus).  Sadly, it was his appendix and it had ruptured....poor little dude spent Christmas Day (and 5 following days) in the hospital after an emergency appendectomy.  Good news is that he's recovered and back to his old rambunctious self!

We rung in the New Year like the wild party animals that we are....HA! David and my nephew played Plants vs. Zombies on the iPad and my sissy, niece, and I watched the neighborhood fireworks. The twins....slept through it all.

We made it almost 4 months without any baby sickness. But of course, the inevitable happened. Poor Brooklynn woke up one day congested and running a fever of 102. I freaked out and called the pediatrician but he was off that day. I was able to give her tylenol, which brought the fever down temporarily. We got an appointment for the first thing the following morning. Turns out Brooklynn AND Westin both had RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus). Most babies under the age of 2 contract the virus but it's most dangerous in preemies and babies under 6mo. of age...and the twins are both.  The Dr. said the watch their breathing and keep the fever under control or they would have to be admitted into the hospital. There aren't any prescriptions that can help, just keep the babies comfortable. Of course, David was out of the country in Canada so this mama got to juggle two sickly babies for a few days. It wasn't easy but we all survived and thankfully it's passed.

Two pitiful babies wanting mommy cuddles

I can't believe the twins are 4mo. old already. They are making leaps and bounds and hitting milestones everyday. I'm scared to blink because I know I'll miss something. It's crazy how fast times flies.

Here are a few pics from my iPhone from the last month...
